It's a small step: Infosys CEO

BANGALORE: In a brief chat with ET, Infosys CEO S Gopalakrishnan described acquisition of Axon Group as a small step towards becoming a truly transformational player on the global stage. Excerpts:

Will Infy continue with its acquisition plan?

We have been always on the lookout for acquisition, provided it brings in the value. We are keen on strategic acquisitions which will be add value to Infosys and our clients. The Axon acquisition gives us a lot of complementary capability with the ability to deliver from different parts of the globe.

Will Infy now take on global biggies head on?

It is a small step. There is still a huge gap between us and them, but an important step has been taken towards the journey of becoming a truly a transformation player.

What about culture integration?

The culture integration is possible and their leadership (Axon) will add strength to Infosys and bring a lot of value. It does give us a lot of capability.

There is a considerable difference in margins between Infosys and Axon?

We cannot comment on this now. But in the long term, we will be able to work towards that goal.
