India likely to continue to be an investment hotspot: Puneet Chaddha, HSBC
"There is a lot of liquidity in the global system which is fuelling investment particularly in areas like India. India is a bright spot for many."

ET Now: What is your current take on the markets?
Puneet Chaddha: The markets are volatile. They go from being overly optimistic to being very cautious and at times move sideways too. We are going to see a lot of that this year.
It is not clear as to what the immediate trend is. There are just lots of variable at play — both domestically and globally. My guess is that we are going to see a lot more volatility than we have experienced in the first quarter.
ET Now: We are staring at lot of global liquidity — be it ECB, Japan or China. Will that take Indian markets higher?
Puneet Chaddha: That is right. There is a lot of liquidity in the global system which is fuelling investment particularly in areas like India. India is a bright spot for many and we have seen a lot of money coming into India last year — both on the equity side as well as the fixed income side.
This trend is as strong as ever. So, you are right. The Indian markets will continue to be well supplied.
