India likely to continue to be an investment hotspot: Puneet Chaddha, HSBC
In a chat with ET Now, Puneet Chaddha, CEO, HSBC Global Asset Management, shares his views on the Indian markets. Excerpts:

ET Now: What is your current take on the markets?

Puneet Chaddha: The markets are volatile. They go from being overly optimistic to being very cautious and at times move sideways too. We are going to see a lot of that this year.

It is not clear as to what the immediate trend is. There are just lots of variable at play — both domestically and globally. My guess is that we are going to see a lot more volatility than we have experienced in the first quarter.

ET Now: We are staring at lot of global liquidity — be it ECB, Japan or China. Will that take Indian markets higher?

Puneet Chaddha: That is right. There is a lot of liquidity in the global system which is fuelling investment particularly in areas like India. India is a bright spot for many and we have seen a lot of money coming into India last year — both on the equity side as well as the fixed income side.
