ET Now: The WPI numbers have come in at 2.3% versus 2.1%. The difference does not matter; what matters is the fact that it is still in negative. Your view?
Mythili Bhusnurmath: Absolutely. I could not agree with you more. Whether it is 2.3% or 2.1%, it is just a minor detail. The fact is that the WPI is well within range; the level is completely manageable and comfortable.
The latest number certainly suggests that we have beaten back inflation. Also, we don't need to bother much about CPI too. We do not have too much cause for worry there too.
The underlying factors might be different because of the base effect. But any which way, it is good news for the Modi government just when it is a completing about a year in office.
