Changes in policy decisions may lift growth: Taher Badshah, Motilal Oswal AMC
"If the anticipated political change comes about, then there is cause for looking forward to a better economic growth scenario compared to what it has been."

ET Now: We may endlessly talk about the Modi effect and the fact that macros are in place, but according to a Goldman Sachs report, on four out of five occasions, Indian markets in the run up to the elections have always appreciated. So is it simply history repeating itself?
Taher Badshah: Possibly. It is not without reason either, because if the anticipated political change comes about, then there is cause for looking forward to a better economic growth scenario compared to what it has been, at least in the past two to three years.
So clearly, we will have to see how improved the situation will be. However, there are expectations that changes in policy decisions can probably lift growth. So, there is merit even if it is probably only in statistics.
