Celebrities act as catalysts for mass communication: Saina Nehwal
Star shuttler Saina Nehwal on why the onus is on the government to protect celebrities.

On the liability of celebrities
This is a debatable issue. Advertisements are required for promotion of products so that they reach to the millions of users in a short span of time. That’s why celebrities are preferred for commercials.

Let the products be made in such a manner that they can’t be tampered by anybody. Nothing will happen if things are made as per specifications and follow strict rules.

On responsible endorsements
I have not done any advertisements for liquor or fat pills. I endorse only those products which are well known, and the brands require new faces to promote them.

Some of the brands I endorse are Fortune oil, Kellogg’s, Savlon, Bajaj No Marks, Edelweiss, Yonex sports products and Indian Overseas Bank. And I am happy to endorse these brands.
