August-September monsoon forecast a concern, but in tune with IMD's overall forecast: IMD
In an interview with, BP Yadav, Director, IMD, talks about the monsoon and the August-September forecast. Excerpts:

ET Now: We are looking at 84 per cent of rainfall for August and September; is it a bit worrying because it is even lower than the full-season forecast that you came out with?

BP Yadav: It is a bit concerning. However, depending upon the position of the various parameters, their values and their strength, it is a forecast that can lead to some concern in some regions. Monsoon, as of now, has been 7 per cent deficient for the season from June one till date. Additionally, July has been about 15 per cent deficient. The forecast for August also has a deficiency of about 8 per cent. Therefore, IMD had indicated in its June forecast that this monsoon is likely to remain deficient and the August-September forecasts are in tune with that overall forecast for the monsoon of 2015.
