Swimming In the Rain
There is a special joy in swimming while it's raining. You feel like you're conspiring with the elements. The pool, usually a place of orderly laps and chlorinated predictability, becomes a stage for rebellion.

Raindrops stipple the surface, each one a tiny percussion note, turning the water into a living drum. You slide in, and suddenly you are not merely swimming but are part of wetness straddling sky and Earth.

The sensation is paradoxical: you are wet already. Yet, the rain insists on making you wetter. It is redundant, absurd - and, therefore, delightful. Coolness of the pool mingles with freshness of the rain, creating a layered texture of water upon water. Boundaries blur, and you cannot tell where the water ends and air begins.

There is also a strange intimacy in it. The world outside scurries for shelter, umbrellas bloom like defensive flowers. But you remain exposed. It feels illicit, like stealing joy. The rain blesses you, the pool embraces you, and together they conspire to remind you that bliss is sometimes overdoing a thing. It's water squared, joy multiplied.
