Gender pay gap is a global challenge. According to Pew Research Center's 'The Enduring Grip of the Gender Pay Gap' report, this disparity has barely narrowed in the US over the past two decades. In 2022, women in the US typically earned 82 cents for every dollar earned by men. In India, PLFS 2019-20 data reveals that women earn 20- 60% less than men, depending on the sector.
