Barrow, not steal

A trader keeps crossing the border with a wheelbarrow full of sand. Customs officers search it every time, convinced he's smuggling something.

Years later, one officer retires and meets the trader. He asks him, 'Come on now, tell me. What were you smuggling all those years?' The trader smiles, 'Wheelbarrows.'

Toasting Globalisation

A man orders a toaster online. The heating element is made in Germany, the wiring in Japan, the plastic in China and the assembly in India. It finally arrives 6 mths later.

The man plugs it in, and it explodes. The warranty department says, 'Sorry, the explosion was manufactured in the US. Please contact them directly.' That's globalisation - you get burnt, but at least it's internationally coordinated.

The US and China sit down to negotiate. The US says, 'We'll lower tariffs if you buy more soybeans.'

China replies, 'We'll buy soybeans if you stop selling us TikTok bans.'

The US says, 'Deal.'

China, after a moment, says, 'Hang on. What's a TikTok ban worth in soybeans?' The negotiators spend 12 hrs calculating exchange rates and leave with only indigestion.
