A mountain sunset

The sky begins its slow transformation, trading the sharp blues of daylight for the warm hues of evening. Standing on the edge of a mountain ridge, the air is crisp, carrying the faint scent of pine and earth. The wind whispers through the trees, and the distant sound of a stream tumbling over rocks drifts up from the valley.

As the sun dips lower, the peaks catch fire - amber light cascading across jagged rock faces, turning the snow-capped summits into molten gold. Shadows lengthen, softening the rugged landscape. You watch as the sky unfurls in shades of coral, lavender and dusky rose, each colour more delicate than the last. The clouds catch the light, glowing like embers before surrendering to the encroaching twilight.

You take a deep breath, the cool mountain air filling your lungs. Time slows. The gentle rustling of leaves, the distant call of a bird returning to its roost, the rhythmic rise and fall of your own breath - each sound becomes part of the stillness. The sun, now a fiery orb, kisses the horizon, casting long shadows that stretch across the land like dark rivers.
