Indian official in UAE to discuss implementation of MGPSY
Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana, a pension and life insurance fund scheme for overseas Indian workers, is estimated to benefit over five million Indians.

During his four-day visit - which began on March 22, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs Secretary Prem Narain will meet the service providers in the region like Bank of Baroda and Alankit Assignments besides Indian Associations at the Consulate in Dubai and at the Indian Social Centre in Abu Dhabi to finalise the implementation of the scheme.
Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana (MGPSY), a pension and life insurance fund scheme for overseas Indian workers, is estimated to benefit over five million Indian workers overseas on temporary work permit in 17 Emigration Check Required ( ECR) countries.
The objective of MGPSY is to encourage and enable the overseas Indian workers with government contribution to save for their Return and Resettlement (R&R), old age or obtain life insurance cover against natural death during the period of coverage.
