Texas flags ‘ghost offices’ as part of broader H-1B visa crackdown
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is targeting nearly 30 North Texas businesses for alleged H-1B visa program misuse, specifically focusing on "ghost offices." These companies are suspected of faking operational presence to sponsor foreign worker...

The companies under scrutiny include Tekpro IT LLC, Fame PBX LLC, 1st Ranking Technologies LLC, Qubitz Tech Systems LLC, Blooming Clouds LLC, Virat Solutions Inc., Oak Technologies Inc., Techpath Inc., and Techquency LLC. Authorities suspect these firms of using improper methods to access the H-1B visa system.
Investigators have pointed to the use of “ghost offices,” a practice in which companies allegedly claim to run active operations without maintaining a real business presence. This method is suspected to have been used to meet requirements for sponsoring foreign employees.
“I will not allow the H-1B program to be abused by bad actors seeking to use it as a loophole for allowing foreign nationals to invade Texas,” said Attorney General Paxton. “My office will continue working to uncover and put an end to fraud within the H-1B program.”
As part of the crackdown, the Attorney General’s office has asked the companies to submit documents including employee records, details of services or products offered, financial statements, and internal communications related to their operations.
The latest action builds on a wider investigation by the Attorney General’s office into alleged misuse of the H-1B visa programme across Texas. Officials said the effort is aimed at ensuring companies follow the law and that the programme functions within its intended scope.
