Indians can visit UAE to seek jobs without a local employer or sponsor: What you need to know

Indian skilled professionals looking to work in the UAE can enter Dubai to search for jobs without first securing a local employer or sponsor. The Dubai job exploration visit visa allows eligible jobseekers to attend interviews, take part in recruitment processes and explore employment opportunities in the emirate.

For Indians considering a move to the UAE for work, the visa offers an option to conduct the job search from Dubai instead of applying for jobs from India. Applicants can choose a 60-day, 90-day or 120-day visa based on the time they need to look for employment.

The stay may be extendable under applicable rules and approvals, with the total period potentially reaching 180 days.

Who can apply

Applicants generally need to hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification. The jobs they are seeking must fall under skill levels 1, 2 or 3 in the classification used by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

Recent Indian graduates may also qualify if they completed their degree within the previous two years from a university ranked among the world’s top 500 institutions under recognised international rankings.

Applicants may also need to show that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves during their stay in the UAE.

What Indian jobseekers need

Applicants need to prepare documents including a passport valid for at least six months, recent photographs and attested educational qualifications. Proof of financial means may also be required, depending on the applicant's category.

Applications can be submitted through GDRFA Dubai’s online channels or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP).

Applicants must enter their personal details, select the visa duration, upload the required documents and pay the applicable fees online. Once approved, the visa is issued electronically.

For Indians planning to use the route, the key benefit is that they can be physically present in Dubai while looking for suitable jobs, meeting employers and attending interviews.

However, getting the visa does not guarantee employment. Jobseekers should check the latest eligibility requirements, fees and conditions through authorised government channels and avoid agents or entities claiming to guarantee jobs or visas.
