Germany issued 60,000 visas for skilled workers in 2021

Around 60,000 visas for skilled workers were issued to foreign nationals in 2021 under Germany's Skilled Workers Immigration Act, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported.

The number was 30,000 in 2020 when the German Skilled Workers Immigration Act was rolled out in March. Indian nationals were issued 1,197 visas in that period.


Germany, being a manufacturing powerhouse, is one of the favourite destinations for people all over the world to work.

The work visa is issued to those who have completed vocational training in Germany or an equivalent course from elsewhere which is recognised in Germany.

Those who have completed higher studies from abroad which is comparable to similar education degrees in Germany, SchengenVisaInfo.com added.
