Wipro says it does not expect any material business impact from the US suspension of new PERM applications for certain companies

Wipro does not expect the US Department of Labor’s suspension of new PERM applications for certain companies to have any material impact on its business. The company stated this in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

It clarified that PERM, which is linked to the US permanent residency process, is different from skilled worker visa programmes such as the H-1B.

Wipro said over 80% of its US workforce is locally hired. It added that it will continue to invest in local talent, comply with US regulations and ensure there is no disruption to client services.
