Helicopter transfers to Capri
Uber Copter introduces pre-booked helicopter rides between Sorrento and Capri, offering a round-trip journey for groups of up to six. At €250 per person, the dual-pilot, dual-engine aircraft departs from a private helipad in Sorrento and includes door-to-door transfers anywhere along the Amalfi Coast.
With this launch, Uber aims to provide a convenient and scenic route to one of Italy’s most visited islands. The full trip is priced at €1500 for six passengers.
Private boat cruises on Amalfi’s waters
For those preferring to explore by sea, Uber Boat offers four-hour private cruises from Sorrento Marina. Guests can charter an Italian Gozzo 35 boat for up to 12 people. Each cruise includes a skipper, snacks, and beverages, providing a leisurely way to experience the coastal scenery.
This is part of Uber’s effort to meet rising interest in premium, app-based mobility services at tourist hotspots. Both air and boat services must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance and will operate only on Saturdays and Sundays, subject to weather.
Scheduled rides with Uber reserve
To ease traffic and airport congestion, Uber has also launched Uber Reserve for ground transportation across the Amalfi Coast. Travelers can now book cars in advance, especially helpful during peak travel times around the newly operational Salerno Airport.
Growing tourist demand
“At Uber, we strive to help our customers go anywhere, wherever they are traveling,” said Anabel Diaz, Uber’s Vice President for Mobility in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. “Italy is fast becoming one of our most popular tourist destinations... This summer, we’re adding a series of unforgettable experiences that will make traveling by land, sea or air more magical than ever before.”
Uber data shows that demand for its services has grown steadily in Italy. In summer 2024, the company reported a 25% increase in international usage across cities like Rome, Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast. Over 400,000 international users accessed Uber in Italy last year, with 60,000 users opening the app on the Amalfi Coast in the past 12 months alone.
Service period and availability
The seasonal services: Uber Copter and Uber Boat will be active from July 26 to August 24, available on weekends only. Bookings will be subject to availability and weather conditions.
