Warner Bros. plans largest Harry Potter studio tour in Shanghai by 2027
Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. plans to open its largest "Making of Harry Potter" studio tour in Shanghai in 2027, in partnership with Jinjiang International. The attraction will be nearly four times bigger than the London studio and will feature set...

The studio tour will be part of the redevelopment of Jinjiang Amusement Park, a state-owned facility that closed in January for renovations. Covering over 53,000 square meters, the attraction will feature recreated sets, props, costumes, and animatronics from the Harry Potter films. Unlike theme park rides, the tour is a self-guided exhibition showcasing behind-the-scenes aspects of the franchise.
China has been a key market for the Harry Potter series, with all eight films re-released in October 2023. They ran for eight consecutive weeks in 3,400 theaters across 295 cities. The country already hosts "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Studios Beijing, which opened in 2021.
Warner Bros. has been expanding the Harry Potter brand beyond movies, with ventures including a Fantastic Beasts spin-off, theater productions, video games, and an upcoming TV series set to premiere on Max in 2026. The Shanghai studio tour will be the third worldwide after London and Tokyo, reinforcing the franchise’s growing footprint in Asia.
