According to reports, Vietnam’s lawmakers on June 24 in the National Assembly passed an approval to increase the validity of electronic visas for inbound visitors on recommendation of the government.
Known for its colonial history, cuisine, natural landscapes and pocket-friendly tourism, Vietnam has recently become one of the most visited and popular country in South East Asia.
Currently, visa issued to Indian visitors are valid for 30 days and is a single entry visa.
Currently, Vietnam allows e-visa for 80 countries, including India, China (including Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR passport holders), Greece, Japan, South Korea, the US and Italy. The visa processing fee is USD 25 (INR 2,049), and it takes about three to four days for the same, according to the government website.
Citizens of United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Japan and South Korea are exempt from visa for Vietnam for 45 days instead of 15 days.
This policy will come into the action from August 15 onwards.
