London’s New Bond Street has taken the top position as the world’s most expensive retail street, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s Main Streets Across the World 2025 report. The street moved up two spots after recording a 22% jump in rents over the past year, reaching an average of $2,231 per sq. ft. This rise has pushed Milan’s Via Montenapoleone and New York’s Fifth Avenue down the global ranking at a time when most premier streets are seeing steady but slower growth.
According to the report, 58% of the tracked markets recorded year-on-year rental increases despite continued economic uncertainty. The Americas led globally with nearly 8% rental growth, while Europe saw a 4% increase and Asia Pacific rents inched up by about 2%.
