This city has the coolest street in the world in 2025

Rua do Senado in Rio de Janeiro has been named the coolest street in the world for 2025, according to Time Out’s annual global ranking. The street leads this year’s list for its mix of historic architecture, lively weekend samba sessions and a growing cluster of restaurants, bars, shops and cultural spaces that have brought new energy to the area.

Time Out’s fourth annual list focuses on vibrant stretches of urban life where residents and visitors gather to eat, explore and enjoy local culture. Editors across the brand’s global network nominated standout streets in their cities, which were then assessed on food, drink, culture, nightlife, community feel and overall atmosphere. Orange Street in Osaka, Rua do Bonjardim in Porto, Fanghua Street in Chengdu and Sherbrooke Street West in Montreal rounded out the top five.
