Thailand sets out requirements for Indian tourists using visa exemption

Thailand allows Indian nationals to enter without a visa for up to 60 days for tourism and short business engagements. Travellers must, however, complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) registration before arrival, preferably at least three days in advance. Immigration authorities may also ask for proof of onward travel and sufficient funds during entry.

Indian passport holders can travel to Malaysia without a visa for up to 30 days under the country's visa exemption programme, which is currently valid until December 31, 2026. Visitors must hold a valid passport, meet immigration requirements and comply with Malaysian entry rules during their stay.

The Maldives offers 90-day visa-free entry to Indian passport holders. Travellers must carry a passport with adequate validity, proof of accommodation or hotel booking, sufficient financial means and a return or onward ticket, if required by immigration authorities.

Indian citizens do not require a visa to visit Bhutan. Travellers can enter using a valid passport or other accepted travel documents and must complete the entry formalities prescribed by Bhutanese authorities. Additional permits may be required to travel beyond designated regions within the country.

Indian nationals can travel to Nepal without a visa. There is no fixed limit on the period of stay under the bilateral arrangement, although travellers must carry valid identity documents accepted by Nepalese immigration authorities while entering the country.

Indian passport holders can visit Seychelles for up to 90 days without a visa. However, travellers must obtain a Seychelles Travel Authorisation (STA) before departure and pay the applicable processing fee. They may also need to show proof of accommodation, sufficient funds and a return or onward ticket.

The Philippines allows Indian nationals to enter without a visa for up to 14 days for tourism, provided they hold a passport valid for at least six months, confirmed hotel accommodation, proof of sufficient funds, and a return or onward ticket. The stay cannot be extended.

Indian passport holders with a valid US, Japanese, Australian, Canadian, Schengen, Singapore or United Kingdom visa or residence permit can instead enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 30 days, subject to the same passport validity and onward travel requirements.
