Thailand’s Anti-Fake News Center has clarified that foreign nationals are not restricted to entering the country visa-free only twice a year, calling the circulating reports 'false information'. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society confirmed with the Immigration Bureau that no new rules or legal amendments have been introduced.

The misinformation had led to confusion among travellers, with some believing that repeated visa-free visits would no longer be allowed.

Wetang Phuangsup, spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, said authorities had checked the claims and confirmed that existing immigration rules remain unchanged.

Currently, Thailand continues to monitor foreign nationals entering the country, particularly those with patterns resembling frequent “visa runs,” but no new restriction limits entry to two times per year, the ministry emphasized.

The ministry urged the public to rely on official sources for travel and visa information, verify the authenticity of news before sharing it, and avoid spreading unverified content.

The statement highlighted that all updates on visa policies will be announced through official channels, including the Immigration Bureau and the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).
