Thailand ends visa-free entry for India; cuts stay for 92 other countries. Check full list

Thailand has ended visa-free entry for Indian travellers and moved India to the Visa on Arrival (VoA) category under its revised entry rules, according to Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The earlier 60-day visa-free scheme for travellers from 93 countries, including India, has now been withdrawn as country tightens tourism and immigration rules.

India is now among four countries placed in Thailand’s revised Visa on Arrival category, alongside Azerbaijan, Belarus and Serbia. Indian tourists will no longer be able to enter Thailand without a visa under the temporary exemption scheme introduced in 2024.

Thailand’s Cabinet recently approved the rollback of the 60-day visa-free policy that had applied to travellers from more than 90 countries and territories. The move is part of a broader review of immigration and tourism policies amid concerns over visa misuse, illegal work and security issues linked to some foreign visitors.
