The ministry’s calendar marks June 10 (14 Dhul Hijjah 1446) as the start date for visa processing. Umrah companies and foreign agents were previously instructed to complete service agreements by May 27.
Follows successful Hajj Season
According to Gulf News, the resumption comes shortly after a smooth and well-managed Hajj, which saw more than 1.6 million pilgrims travel to Mecca. The temporary pause in Umrah visas is a routine measure taken to focus resources on managing Hajj operations.
Umrah to run through 2026
Unlike Hajj, Umrah is not limited to specific dates and can be performed year-round. The upcoming Umrah cycle will continue into 2026 (1447 Hijri). The ministry is expected to release updates on quotas, travel rules, and health protocols in the coming months.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the safe and efficient organization of this year’s Hajj, commending the efforts that enabled millions of pilgrims to perform their rites without difficulty.
He praised the Saudi leadership for their dedication in ensuring a secure and spiritually meaningful pilgrimage for all.
Amid this regional recognition, Indian pilgrims also took part in the central Hajj rituals, including Wuquf-e-Arafat, as confirmed by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.
