Planning a solo trip? TravelSupermarket research reveals seven destinations where you can face a lower “solo tax”. From Khao Lak to Dubai, see how much a seven-night holiday can cost and where travelling alone could mean paying less extra.

Khao Lak, on Thailand’s Andaman coast, has the lowest solo surcharge among the destinations analysed by TravelSupermarket. A seven-night holiday costs an average of £1,400 (about ₹1.61 lakh) for one traveller, compared with £1,155 per person for two adults sharing. That means solo travellers pay a 21% premium for the same holiday.

Phuket
Phuket is another Thai destination where travelling alone comes with a relatively low additional cost. According to TravelSupermarket, the solo surcharge is 23%. You can spend your holiday exploring its beaches, resorts, restaurants and nearby islands, making it an option to consider if you want a beach break without a high premium for travelling alone.

Pattaya is among the destinations featured in TravelSupermarket’s top 10 for lower solo surcharges.
