The move allows visitors to access areas typically restricted to departing passengers, including retail outlets, dining spaces and leisure facilities inside the airport.
Entry only through advance registration
Access to the terminal is regulated through a pre-registration system. Visitors must apply in advance and obtain a digital security pass in PDF format, which includes a QR code for scanning at checkpoints, shops and exit points.Authorities said visitors must return their security badge after completing the visit. Failure to do so may affect eligibility for future participation.
Strict rules on devices and eligibility
Entry is limited to UAE ID holders, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors are not allowed to carry or use personal electronic devices such as laptops or tablets inside the terminal during the visit.Appointments must be booked in advance, and any same-day changes require direct coordination with airport authorities and issuance of a new entry pass.
Retail access with spending-linked benefits
Visitors can shop and dine inside the terminal under normal conditions, with standard VAT charges applicable. However, the sale of tobacco and alcohol is not permitted as entry is granted without a boarding pass. The airport is also offering up to four hours of free parking, subject to a minimum spend of Dh200 and validation before exit. Payments at exit points are cashless.
The initiative offers a controlled way for non-travellers to experience airport facilities while maintaining security protocols.
