Premier Inn is known for its value-for-money stays and wide presence in towns and cities across the UK. This partnership strengthens MakeMyTrip’s international hotel portfolio and adds to its efforts to cater to growing outbound travel from India.
MakeMyTrip has been working to expand its international hotel network through direct contracts with hotels in high-demand destinations. In the past year, the company has added more than 2,000 directly contracted hotels in 50 cities across 20 countries. These locations together account for over half of all outbound travel from India.
“Over the past twelve months, we have pursued a focused strategy to deepen our international accommodation offerings across key hubs, particularly in long haul markets such as the UK, Europe, and the USA. These initiatives are beginning to show results, with a steady uptick in the value contribution of international stays on our platform. Our partnership with Premier Inn in the UK, one of the most preferred destinations for Indian travellers, is a key part of this strategy,” said Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip in the official statement.
Premier Inn is part of the Whitbread Group and operates hotels in the UK, Ireland, and Germany. The brand's wide network and pricing structure are expected to appeal to Indian tourists looking for dependable accommodation abroad.
“Connecting with MakeMyTrip is an exciting addition to our OTA partnerships and growth. It will drive increased awareness across India and surrounding markets for us, giving travellers even more opportunity to benefit from our unrivalled number of hotels across the UK, Germany and Ireland, ” said Tim Sleep, Director of Sales & Distribution at Premier Inn, in an official statement.
This development is part of MakeMyTrip’s broader plan to strengthen its position in the international travel segment, as more Indians choose overseas destinations for holidays and business travel.
