IndiGo launches direct flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Malé, Maldives

IndiGo will begin daily direct flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Malé, Maldives, from October 26, 2025. The beginning of this flight operation makes Thiruvananthapuram the fourth Indian city linked directly to Malé, joining Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kochi. The airline will operate the route using ATR aircraft, providing an affordable and convenient travel option for both leisure and business travellers.

“We are pleased to announce daily flights between Thiruvananthapuram and Malé, enhancing access to the recently expanded Velana International Airport. With this, IndiGo will now operate 28 weekly flights to the Maldives from four cities in India. With India being a major source of tourists for the Maldives, and the growing business ties between the two countries, this new route is poised to enhance not only connectivity but also further contribute to strengthening the growing bilateral relations,” said Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Sales at IndiGo. The service aims to offer seamless connectivity with daily flights at convenient timings.

India remains one of the Maldives’ top tourism markets, and enhanced air connectivity is expected to support tourism growth, business exchanges, and regional development.
