The Henley Passport Index, a key tool for comparing global passport strength, lists France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain as having the world’s most powerful passports. Citizens from these countries can travel to 194 destinations without requiring a visa.
In contrast, Afghanistan ranks at the bottom of the list, with its passport holders able to enter only 28 countries visa-free. Syria, Iraq, and Pakistan follow, with access to 29, 31, and 34 countries, respectively.
For Indian passport holders, the new ranking means easier travel to countries like Oman and Qatar, which offer either visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival options, according to the Henley Passport Index 2024.
