Indian tourists can now apply for Indonesia’s e-VoA online: Here’s how

Indian nationals can now apply for Indonesia’s Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) through a new online VFS Global platform, streamlining the visa process and reducing wait times at immigration. The platform allows travelers to complete their e-VoA application before departure, ensuring a quicker entry experience at airports and seaports, including Bali and Jakarta.

The process is simple and mobile-friendly. Applicants need to submit the required documents, pay the fees online, and receive the pre-approved e-VoA via email. This pre-approval lets travelers skip lengthy immigration queues by using E-gates or dedicated immigration counters.

“The launch of this digital e-Visa on Arrival platform for Indonesia will streamline the visa application process, making it faster, easier, and more convenient. With Indonesia being a globally sought-after destination, we are honoured to assist visitors from 97 countries by facilitating their entry into this incredible country through this platform,” Jiten Vyas, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Business Development, VFS Global, said.


For group travelers, such as those organized by travel agents or tour operators, the platform also offers a group booking feature, making it easier to arrange visas for multiple individuals. Additionally, Indian travelers can access support in multiple languages, including English, to assist with queries throughout the application process.

Indonesia introduced the e-Visa on Arrival system as part of its efforts to simplify travel for nationals from 97 eligible countries, including India. Previously, Indian travelers needed to secure a visa at Indonesian airports or through embassies, often leading to longer wait times and potential delays. With the launch of the e-VoA, Indian tourists can now complete the process online, saving time and effort.

The e-VoA is particularly beneficial for Indians visiting Indonesia for tourism, business meetings, or family visits. It grants a 30-day stay in Indonesia, with the option to extend for an additional 30 days.

This initiative aligns with Indonesia’s aim to welcome 14 million tourists by 2025 and enhances the convenience of visiting popular destinations like Bali, Jakarta, and other cultural and natural attractions.
