India has expanded its Visa-on-Arrival program for UAE citizens, now available at nine airports for unlimited annual visits. This simplifies travel for business, tourism, and medical purposes, allowing stays up to 60 days. Eligibility requires pr...

According to a Gulf News report, under the updated system, the VoA is now available at Cochin, Calicut and Ahmedabad airports, in addition to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Kochi. Officials said the expansion responds to the increasing number of UAE visitors and supports India’s broader effort to make entry processes more efficient for foreign travellers.
The VoA remains available only to UAE passport holders who have previously obtained an Indian e-Visa or a regular visa. The facility does not apply to any UAE national who, or whose parent or grandparent, was born in or has permanent residence in Pakistan. Such travellers must continue to apply through India’s diplomatic missions in the UAE.
Authorities have advised first-time visitors to secure an e-Visa or a paper visa before using the on-arrival option for subsequent trips.
The visa covers travel for business, tourism, medical treatment and conferences. Once issued, it allows a stay of up to 60 days, with the possibility of two entries within that period if granted a double-entry visa. The VoA cannot be extended or converted into another visa type. Travellers can use the facility multiple times in a year as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
To obtain a VoA, travellers must carry a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and two blank pages, along with the completed application form, disembarkation card, and passport-size photos. Immigration officers may request proof of accommodation, sufficient funds and return or onward tickets.
Applications can be submitted online in advance or filled out upon arrival. A fee of ₹2,000 (or equivalent foreign currency) applies to each traveller, including children.
