Canada eases Super Visa wait for Indians; study permits slow despite steady work, visitor visas
The estimated wait for Super Visa applications from India has fallen to 50 days from 66 days, while work permit and visitor visa timelines for Indian applicants remained stable or improved marginally. However, those planning to study in Canada will have to wait longer, with study permit processing increasing by a week.
According to the July 2 update also highlights how processing timelines vary depending on where an application is submitted. While applicants filing from within Canada continue to enjoy the fastest processing for several categories, Indian applicants generally face shorter waits than those applying from the United States in key visa streams.
Super visa applicants from India see biggest relief
The biggest improvement for Indian applicants came in the Super Visa category, where processing times dropped by 16 days to 50 days from 66 days.Also Read: What Indian travellers should know before travelling to Thailand
By comparison, applicants from the United States saw Super Visa processing times increase by nearly three weeks during the same period, making India one of the biggest beneficiaries of the latest update. IRCC's service standard for Super Visa applications remains 112 days, meaning current processing for Indian applicants is well within the department's target, reported CIC News.
Work permit timeline unchanged for Indians
Work permit processing for applicants from India remained unchanged at nine weeks.The biggest improvement in this category was for applications submitted from within Canada, where processing times fell by 15 days to 129 days, the lowest level this year. Applications from the United States continued to be processed in four weeks, making them faster than those filed from India.
Study permits take longer

Study permit processing for applications from India increased to five weeks, up from four weeks in the previous update. Processing time for applications submitted from within Canada also increased by a week to seven weeks, while applications from the United States remained unchanged at five weeks.
Visitor visa processing improves slightly
Visitor visa applicants from India also saw a modest improvement.Processing time declined to 21 days from 22 days. Applications submitted from within Canada are currently taking 38 days, while applicants from the United States experienced slightly longer processing times in the latest update, according to IRCC.

IRCC said published processing times are estimates based on current application volumes and historical trends and do not guarantee when an application will be finalised.
