Indian Embassy in Ukraine issues fresh advisory for Indian nationals

The embassy also asked Indians in that country to keep the mission informed about the status of their presence in Ukraine.

In view of the escalating war in Ukraine, the Indian embassy there on Monday advised Indian nationals to avoid all non-essential travel to and within the country.

Indian nationals in Ukraine were also told to keep the mission informed about the status of their presence there.

"In view of the current escalation of hostilities in Ukraine, Indian nationals are advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine," the embassy said.

"They must strictly follow the safety and security guidelines issued by the Ukrainian Government and local authorities," it added.

The war in Ukraine has intensified with Russia pressing on with retaliatory missile strikes targeting various Ukrainian cities in response to the blast in Crimea on Saturday.

The blast in Crimea, which is Russia-controlled , damaged a crucial bridge. Russia has accused Ukraine of carrying out the blast.
