Akasa Air launches Mumbai–Phuket flights, commences Southeast Asia operations

Akasa Air has started daily direct flights between Mumbai and Phuket from September 20, 2025, marking its entry into Southeast Asia and making Phuket its sixth international destination.

The first flight departed Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 7:45 am IST and landed at Phuket International Airport at 2:35 pm ICT. The return service departed Phuket at 3:35 pm ICT and arrived in Mumbai at 7:15 pm IST.

A ceremony was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai to flag off the inaugural service, attended by Akasa Air’s Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Belson Coutinho, Chief Marketing Officer Naarayan T V, and leadership members from Mumbai International Airport Limited. A special boarding pass was presented to the first passenger, and all travellers were welcomed on arrival in Phuket.

Akasa Air said Southeast Asia will be central to its international expansion. It will also launch daily direct flights between Bengaluru and Phuket from October 1, 2025.
