Air India expands Asia connectivity with new flights to Vietnam, Japan

The airline will begin Delhi–Hanoi flights from May 1, 2026, operating five times a week using A320neo aircraft. With this addition, Hanoi becomes Air India’s second destination in Vietnam after Ho Chi Minh City. The new service will enable flexible open-jaw travel options and add over 7,000 seats per month to and from Vietnam.
Air India will also introduce Mumbai–Tokyo (Haneda) flights from June 15, 2026, operating four times weekly with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The airline already operates daily Delhi–Tokyo (Haneda) services, which have recently seen frequency and product upgrades, including the introduction of Premium Economy.

The new routes will progressively open for bookings across Air India’s website, mobile app, and travel agents.
The airline said the additions are part of its broader strategy to enhance connectivity, improve customer experience, and expand its international footprint.
