CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government will announce a new policy for non-resident Indians at a two-day NRI conference beginning January four in the state.

The conference is intended to address grievances of Punjabi diaspora, NRI Affairs minister Bikram Singh Majithia said here today.

An open discussion will be held to resolve complaints pertaining to NRIs during the sammelan, he said.

The first day of the conference will held in the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the concluding day in Jalandhar, Majithia said.

Some ministers from Canada and parliamentarians from a number of countries are likely to attend the conference.

The Punjab government will announce a new policy for NRIs during the sammelan, Majithia said.
