Pakistan's Interior Minister Rahman Malik says India-Pakistan visa agreement a positive development
Ahead of the inking of a new liberalised visa agreement between India and Pakistan, Interior Minister Rahman Malik today termed it a positive development.
"Inking of the agreement is a positive development that will boost people to people contact," Malik said.
The much-awaited visa pact could not be inked during the Home Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan in May, after Islamabad insisted that it should be signed at a political level.
The visa agreement will finally be signed tomorrow between Malik and visiting External Affairs Minister S M Krishna.
"This is something the two countries should cherish," Malik said.
The visa agreement will have five new categories, including multiple city one-year visas for businessmen, visa- on-arrival for people aged 65 years and group tourist visas for groups of 10 to 50 people coming through registered tour operates.
Krishna will also hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar tomorrow.
