Interestingly every year students are keen to find out the maximum quantity of mangoes they can check in! There have been instances at the Virgin Atlantic counters where student passengers have paid excess baggage fees to carry a big bag full of Maggi and Haldiram Bhujias. Passengers have even been known to leave behind books to make space for a pressure cooker! There has also been an incidence where a passenger actually checked in a traditional broom.

Other surprising items include:
• Paranthas in cling wrap for at least a week. Even buns!
• Pickles
• Jaggery
• Traditional Desi Ghee
• Sweets
• Hair Oil, Shampoo, Refined oil in quantities that will last a year!
• Guitar, Harmonium, Tabla
• Sports equipment- Cricket, Golf kit
• Ready to Eat food packets!
