The UAE has opened a 10-year Golden Visa route for graduates of the world's top 100 universities, allowing eligible candidates to live and work in the country without requiring sponsorship from an employer or a UAE national.

To qualify, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a university recognised among the top 100 by the UAE Ministry of Education and have secured a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or its equivalent. They must also apply within two years of graduating.

The route could provide an option for Indian students who have graduated from leading international universities and are looking to build their careers in the UAE.

Applicants must submit an attested bachelor's degree certificate and an equivalency certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education as part of the application process.

The 10-year Golden Visa offers long-term residency without the need for a local sponsor. Holders can live and work in the UAE and sponsor their family members, including their spouse, children, parents and domestic workers.

The eligibility criteria mean that graduating from a top-ranked university alone does not guarantee approval. Applicants must also meet the minimum academic score, satisfy the two-year application deadline and complete the required documentation.

The Golden Visa is renewable, giving eligible graduates an option to remain in the UAE for the long term while pursuing employment or other professional opportunities.
