NRI community attends reception in honour of Hamid Ansari

LONDON: Several prominent members from the NRI community in the UK attended a reception here hosted in honour of Vice President Hamid Ansari and his wife.

Ansari arrived here yesterday on the third and last leg of his three-nation tour. He flew in here from Havana after completing a visit to Cuba and Peru.

The reception hosted last night by India's Acting High Commissioner to the UK Dr Virander Paul was attended by Lord Swraj Paul, Chairman of the Caparo Group, Lord Gulam Noon, Founder Chairman of the Noon products, Lord Karan Billimoria, Founder chairman of the Cobra Beers and Lord Dolar Popat, Chairman of the Conservative Friends of India.

Others inlcude Lord Diljit Rana, Lord Meghnad Desai, Baroness Shriela Flather and Joginder Sangar, Chairman of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

The Vice President will deliver a lecture on 'Citizenship and Identity' at the Oxford Islamic Research Centre.
