Two drones fell near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, leaving four people injured, according to the Dubai Media Office. Authorities said air traffic at the airport continues to operate normally despite the incident.

Officials said the drones landed in the vicinity of the airport a short while before the update was issued. The incident injured three foreign nationals and caused moderate injuries to one Indian citizen.

“Authorities confirm that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) a short while ago, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national. Air traffic is operating as normal,” the Dubai Media Office said in a post on X.

The statement said two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national suffered minor injuries. An Indian national sustained moderate injuries.

The US, Israel conflict with Iran has disrupted global aviation, forcing airlines to cancel, reschedule and reroute flights as several Middle East airspaces, including Qatar, remain closed over missile and drone threats. The crisis has also pushed up energy prices, leading to higher aviation fuel costs.

Airlines in the United Arab Emirates, including Emirates and Etihad Airways, have resumed some services since the crisis began on February 28. However, operations remain below normal capacity.
