Saudi Arabia flight update: Flynas adds services to six Indian cities from Dammam

The Consulate General of India in Jeddah has shared an update on additional air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and India to assist Indian nationals affected by flight disruptions, particularly Umrah pilgrims.

According to the latest advisory, Saudi air carriers continue to operate services to India from Jeddah and Madinah. Other international airlines are also offering one-stop connections through their respective hubs.

Flynas has announced additional flights from Dammam to Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kozhikode and Kochi. Flights from Riyadh to Delhi, Hyderabad and Kozhikode have also been announced for select dates.

The Embassy and Consulate remain in contact with airlines and community organisations to assist affected Indian nationals. Umrah tour operators have been encouraged to explore the additional flight options available for Indian passengers.

Assistance for Umrah pilgrims

The Consulate continues to assist with its 24-hour control rooms in Jeddah and Makkah. With support from Indian community associations and volunteers, arrangements for food, essential medicines and other immediate requirements are being facilitated wherever needed and feasible.

The Consulate is also coordinating with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address difficulties arising from the disruptions, particularly issues involving visa validity and delayed departures.

Umrah pilgrims facing accommodation or other service-related difficulties during an extended stay can contact the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's Pilgrim Care Centre at 1966, accessible within Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims can register their concerns and obtain a case reference number, which may be shared with the Consulate's control rooms if further coordination is required.

Passengers are also advised to remain in contact with their respective Umrah service providers for assistance.

How passengers can arrange alternative flights

The Consulate has been connecting Indian Umrah tour operators with airlines continuing to operate services to India to facilitate alternative travel arrangements. These arrangements are subject to flight and seat availability, applicable fares and other requirements of the concerned airlines.

The Consulate is also in regular contact with Indian airlines regarding cancellations and passenger concerns, including difficulties in obtaining refunds. Affected passengers should contact their airlines, travel agents and Umrah service providers for information on cancellations, rebooking, refunds and alternative travel arrangements.

Passengers are advised to verify flight schedules, bookings and travel arrangements directly with the concerned airlines before proceeding to departure airports.
