The decision applies to visit visas, Umrah visas, transit visas and final exit permits that expired from February 26, 2026, as reported by Gulf News. The announcement comes after travel disruptions prevented many individuals from departing the country.

Two options for affected visa holders
The ministry said affected individuals can choose between two options to address their visa status.
Under the first option, hosts can apply to extend expired visas through the Absher platform after paying the required fees. This extension will remain valid until April 18.

Alternatively, visa holders can exit Saudi Arabia directly through international ports without extending their visas or paying any fees or overstay fines, as per the Gulf News report.
The ministry said the measure aims to ease procedures for visitors and residents impacted by the situation, while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining smooth travel operations across the country’s borders.
