An attack targetted King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh
A projectile struck a passenger terminal at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, a day after a missile strike killed 12 and injured more than 300 people at the site.

A Saudi-led coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen informed AP about the situation, however, the authorities did not release any official statament on the latest strike. According to Reuters, Houthis claimed responsibility in a televised speech for Saturday’s attack on Riyadh's international airport.

The missile strike on Sunday appeared to hit the same complex housing passenger terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights.

The sharp escalation in the latest front in the Iran war threatens to draw in greater US military involvement as American President Donald Trump said that he is weighing joining the fight against the rebels.

The strike on Sunday occurred as the Riyadh Airport remained closed and authorities moved schools in the Saudi capital online.

11 Indians injured in Saturday attacks in Saudi Arabia

The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia informed that 11 Indians got injured in the attacks on Riyadh airport on Saturday.

"Embassy of India, Riyadh has been following up on the dastardly attack on Riyadh airport yesterday in which 12 people unfortunately died and more than 300 were injured. It is learnt that 11 Indians are among those injured in the attack," it said in a statemant.

The Indian Embassy has been in touch with local authorities to enquire about their well being and officials have also reached out to the hospital authorities.
