In a Hamad International Airport sources told ANI the suspension was aimed at ensuring the highest level of safety for passengers and employees. Travellers have been advised not to proceed to the airport until further notice.
Passengers currently in Doha are requested to remain patient during this challenging period, the sources said, adding that dedicated teams are responding to enquiries as quickly as possible and have compiled guidance for affected travellers.
The move comes against the backdrop of escalating hostilities in the region, with missile exchanges and aerial strikes raising fears of spillover risks to civilian aviation corridors across the Gulf. Regional carriers have been rerouting flights to avoid conflict zones, while several countries have issued travel advisories and activated contingency plans for stranded nationals.
Qatar, home to one of the world’s busiest transit hubs, sits at a critical crossroads linking Europe, Asia and Africa. Any disruption to its airspace has immediate ripple effects on global flight schedules, cargo movement and passenger connectivity.
Airlines are expected to provide updates as the situation evolves, with aviation authorities closely monitoring security developments. For now, Doha’s normally bustling skies remain unusually quiet — a stark reminder of how swiftly geopolitical tremors can ground even the world’s most connected hubs.
