Passport Seva portal to be unavailable from Aug 29-Sept 2

The Passport Seva portal will undergo scheduled technical maintenance from 8:00 PM IST on Thursday, August 29, 2024, to 6:00 AM IST on Monday, September 2, 2024, the government said on Thursday, temporarily disrupting the application process, appointment bookings, and other related services.

The portal will be inaccessible from 8.00 PM today, lasting up to 6.00 AM on Monday.

During this period, the system will be inaccessible to citizens as well as to various authorities including the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Regional Passport Offices (RPO), Bureau of Immigration (BOI), India Security Press (ISP), Department of Posts (DoP), and the Police.


As per the notice, applicants who have already scheduled appointments for Friday, August 30, 2024, will see their appointments rescheduled and will be informed of the new dates and times as soon as possible.

The Passport Seva portal is a key platform for Indian citizens seeking passport-related services, has been widely used for applying for new passports, renewing existing ones, and tracking application status.
