J&K CM urges MEA to evacuate stranded Kashmiri students from Iran amid rising tensions with Israel
Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, the Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister's Office has urgently requested the Ministry of External Affairs' intervention to ensure the safety and evacuation of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran.

The request, shared via the CM Office’s official Twitter account, specifically tagged Minister S. Jaishankar:
This call for action comes in the context of a sharp escalation in hostilities. On June 12, Israel launched a significant military operation codenamed- Operation Rising Lion, against Iran’s nuclear and military sites, including the Natanz uranium enrichment facility and missile production centres. Tehran responded by launching over 100 drones toward Israeli territory.
The latest strikes mark the most intense direct confrontation between Israel and Iran since the onset of the Middle Eastern crisis in 2023. Both nations report military infrastructure and personnel losses, raising fears of broader regional escalation that could disrupt civilian life and international student travel.
The J&K administration's message highlights deep parental anxiety. A local representative said officials are “in touch with relevant authorities” to coordinate the safe evacuation of students.
