The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia clarified on Monday that there has been no Indian casualty in the military attack at Al Kharj that happened on Sunday evening, after civil defense officials projected the death of an Indian and a Bangladeshi national.

"It is a matter of relief that there has been no Indian fatality in the unfortunate incident at Al Kharj yesterday evening," it said in a post on X. The diplomatic body has been in touch with the concerned Saudi authorities regarding this issue.

It informed that Counsellor (CW) Shri Y. Sabir visited Al Kharj last night and met the injured Indian national involved in this unfortunate incident. He is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Al Kharj.

In Saudi Arabia, civil defence officials earlier said that a "military projectile" killed two people - an Indian and a Bangladeshi national - and injured 12 others after it landed in a residential area in Al-Kharj governorate, south of Riyadh.

On Monday, the General Directorate of Saudi Civil Defense released a statement regarding the direct fall of a military projectile on a residential site in Al-Kharj Governorate.

After completing all final procedures, it has been determined that the two fatalities are of Bangladeshi nationality, 11 injured persons of Bangladeshi nationality, and 1 injured person of Indian nationality, it said.

The government on Saturday confirmed the "interception and destruction" of a ballistic missile and a cruise missile aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj, a major industrial hub located 80 kilometres from the capital.

Iran struck numerous infrastructure in Gulf on Sunday, including fuel tanks at Kuwait's international airport and a desalination plant in Bahrain.

In Kuwait, two border guards were killed "while performing their national duty", AFP reported, citing the interior ministry said, without providing further details.
