Flights suspended at airport after Iranian strike

Kuwait on Wednesday suspended commercial flight operations after an Iranian drone attack struck Kuwait International Airport, authorities said.

According to Brig. Gen. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for Kuwait's Defense Ministry, "a number of hostile drones" targeted the airport's passenger terminal building. The attack caused extensive damage to the facility and injured several people, AP reported.

Officials did not immediately disclose the exact number of casualties or provide details on the condition of those injured.

The incident came amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region. The drone strike followed an exchange of military attacks between Iran and the United States late Tuesday.
