IndiGo, Air India suspend flights
In a travel advisory posted on X, IndiGo said, “In view of evolving airspace restrictions around Iran and Middle East, all flights to and from Middle East are cancelled till 0000hrs.” The airline added that the measures were instituted as “the safety and security of our customers and crew is our highest priority.”The carrier said its teams are “continuously monitoring the evolving situation and recalibrating operations to minimise disruption as much as possible.” Passengers have been advised to check their flight status prior to departure. Customers whose flights are impacted can explore alternate travel options or opt for a full refund through the airline’s website.
Air India, in a separate statement, said, “In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended.” The airline reiterated that it remains committed to maintaining “the highest standards of safety for our passengers and crew.”
The airline stated it will “continue to assess the safety and security environment for our flight operations and adjust operations proactively as required.” It added that its teams will extend necessary support to affected passengers.
SpiceJet issues advisory
SpiceJet also flagged operational impact. In a post on X, it said, “Due to airspace closure in Dubai (DXB), some of our flights may be affected.” The airline advised passengers to check their flight status on its website or contact its 24×7 reservation helpline for assistance.The announcements come amid heightened tensions and evolving airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East, prompting precautionary operational changes by airlines operating in the region.
